Privacy Policy
The short version
CBD STRAINS ONLY is a publication you can read without creating an account, without giving a name, and without telling us anything about yourself. We collect the minimum data needed to keep the site running, we treat the subject matter as a reason for extra restraint rather than less, and we do not sell personal information. This policy explains what is collected, why, and what control you have. It applies to cbdstrainsonly.com and to email correspondence with our team.
Why restraint matters here
We are conscious that reading about cannabis is, in some places, sensitive in a way that reading about gardening is not. Legal status varies by jurisdiction, and we have no interest in building a record of who reads what. That principle shaped the decisions below: no accounts, no newsletter database unless you explicitly opt in to one, no requirement to identify yourself to use any part of the site.
What we collect automatically
When your browser requests a page, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical logs: the IP address the request came from, the time, the page requested, the referring URL if your browser sent one, and a user agent string describing your browser and operating system. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. They are retained for a limited operational period and then deleted or overwritten in the normal rotation. We do not mine server logs to profile readers.
Cookies and similar technology
The site uses a small number of cookies and similar identifiers for analytics and, where advertising is shown, for ad delivery. The full list of categories, the third parties involved, and your options for refusing them are set out in our separate Cookie Policy. Where the law of your region requires consent before non essential cookies are set, we ask for it through a consent banner, and declining keeps the site fully readable.
Analytics
We use aggregate analytics to understand which articles are read and how the site performs. Analytics data is used in aggregate: we look at how many readers a strain profile had, not at who they were. Where our analytics tooling offers IP anonymization or truncation, it is enabled.
Advertising
Advertising helps fund the site, as described on our Ownership and Funding page. Third party advertising networks may set cookies or receive standard request data in order to serve and measure ads, and some may attempt interest based targeting subject to your consent choices. We do not hand these networks any data you have sent us directly, such as the contents of an email. Consent controls and opt outs are covered in the Cookie Policy.
What you send us yourself
If you email support@cbdstrainsonly.com, we receive your address and whatever you chose to write. We use it to answer you and for no other purpose. Correspondence is kept as long as the matter it concerns remains open, plus a reasonable archival period, then deleted in periodic cleanups. We do not add correspondents to any marketing list, and we do not share correspondence with third parties except where a legal obligation requires it.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We do not require registration or login for any reader facing feature.
- We do not knowingly collect data from minors. This site is intended for adults, and if we learn that a minor has sent us personal data we will delete it.
- We do not attempt to identify individual readers from technical logs, and we do not combine data sources to build reader profiles.
Sharing and disclosure
Personal data leaves our control only in narrow cases: service providers who process data on our behalf to run the site, such as hosting and email infrastructure, bound to use it only for that purpose; a legal demand we are obliged to comply with, in which case we disclose the minimum required; or a reorganization of the publication itself, in which case this policy would continue to bind the data transferred.
International readers
Our infrastructure providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where data protection law applies to a transfer, we rely on our providers’ recognized safeguards for it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights over personal data we hold: to ask what we have, to receive a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Because we hold so little, most requests are simple. Email support@cbdstrainsonly.com with the subject line Privacy, tell us what you want, and we will respond within the timeframe your local law sets, or within thirty days where none applies. We may need to verify that you are the person concerned before acting.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical measures, including transport encryption, to protect data in transit and at rest, while noting that no internet system can be guaranteed secure. Data is kept no longer than the purpose it was collected for requires.
Changes to this policy
When our practices change, this page changes, and the revision date below is updated. Material changes will be flagged with a notice on the site. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
