Our position on copyright
CBD STRAINS ONLY creates its own content: our strain profiles, reviews, and guides are written by our team, and images are either created by us, licensed, or used within the terms of their release. We take other people’s copyright as seriously as our own, and we respond to properly documented infringement claims promptly. This page explains how to send a claim about our content, and also what to do if you believe someone is misusing ours.
Before you send a formal notice
A surprising share of the notices publications receive concern material that is quoted within recognized fair use or fair dealing limits, factual information that copyright does not protect, or a name that trademark rather than copyright governs. Copyright protects original expression: the words and images themselves, not facts about a strain, not a cannabinoid percentage, not the idea of reviewing a product. If your concern is a factual error rather than copying, our Corrections Policy is the right route. If, after considering this, you believe we have reproduced your protected expression without authorization, send a notice as described below.
Filing an infringement notice
Send your notice by email to support@cbdstrainsonly.com with the subject line Copyright. To be actionable, and to qualify as a valid notification under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act where it applies, your notice must contain all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed, with enough detail for us to locate the original, such as a URL to the source work or a registration reference.
- The exact URL or URLs on cbdstrainsonly.com where the allegedly infringing material appears, plus a description of which portion of the page is at issue.
- Your name, organization if any, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Notices missing required elements cannot be processed, and we will tell you what is missing rather than silently discarding them. Be aware that knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can expose the sender to liability under applicable law.
What happens after a valid notice
We review the claim against the material, typically within a few business days. If the claim is substantiated, we remove or disable access to the material promptly and note internally what was removed and why. If the material was contributed by a third party, we forward the notice to them and inform them of their right to respond. If we conclude the use is authorized, licensed, or otherwise lawful, we will reply explaining our reasoning, and you remain free to pursue the disagreement through legal channels.
Counter notices
If material you were responsible for was removed following a notice and you believe the removal was mistaken or the use lawful, you may send a counter notice to the same address containing: identification of the removed material and its former URL; your name, address, and telephone number; a statement under penalty of perjury of your good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; consent to the jurisdiction of the courts applicable to our operation, or where you reside if applicable; and your signature. Upon receiving a valid counter notice we will forward it to the original claimant and may restore the material within the period applicable law allows unless the claimant informs us they have sought a court order.
Repeat infringement
Where any contributor to this site is the subject of repeated substantiated infringement findings, we terminate their involvement. Since almost all content here is produced by our own team under our own standards, this clause exists mostly for completeness, but it is policy.
Our content and your use of it
You are welcome to link to any page on this site, quote brief passages with attribution and a link, and share our work in ways fair use and fair dealing permit. Wholesale republication, scraping for redistribution, and uncredited rewriting of our reviews and profiles are infringements, and we pursue them: we monitor for large scale copying and send our own notices to hosts and platforms where necessary. For licensing or syndication beyond fair quotation, ask first at support@cbdstrainsonly.com; the answer is often yes.
