About Us
Who we are
CBD STRAINS ONLY is an independent online publication devoted to cannabis strains and CBD. We write strain profiles, review CBD products, publish growing guides, and report on the science and wellness questions that surround the plant. The site is run by a small editorial team that researches, writes, checks, and edits everything you read here. We publish under the site name rather than individual bylines because the work is collaborative: a profile you read may have passed through three sets of hands before it went live.
We are a publication, not a shop. Nothing on this site is for sale by us. We do not stock, ship, or sell cannabis, CBD products, seeds, or accessories, and we never will. When we link to a retailer or a brand, that link is either editorial context or a disclosed affiliate link. The difference between the two is always visible on the page, and our Ownership and Funding page explains how the money side works in full.
What we cover
Our coverage falls into four broad areas, and everything we publish sits inside one of them.
- Strain profiles and reviews. Detailed writeups of individual cannabis strains: reported lineage, cannabinoid ranges, terpene notes, typical effects as described by users and by available testing, and growing characteristics where documented.
- CBD product coverage. Reviews and explainers on oils, gummies, topicals, capsules, and other CBD formats, with attention to third party lab reports and label accuracy.
- Growing guides. Practical cultivation content for readers in places where home growing is legal, from germination basics to harvest and curing.
- Wellness and science reporting. Plain language coverage of published research on cannabinoids, written with the studies themselves open in front of us, not a press release.
How we approach the subject
Cannabis writing has a credibility problem. Much of what circulates online is recycled vendor copy, strain descriptions invented by whoever needed one first, and health claims that outrun the evidence by a comfortable margin. Our answer to that is a set of written rules we hold ourselves to.
Our Fact-Checking Policy requires that lab claims trace back to actual certificates of analysis, that strain lineage claims are checked against breeder records where they exist, and that any statement about research is verified against the primary study rather than someone’s summary of it. Our Editorial Standards page describes how we test products, why nobody can buy a favorable review from us, and how affiliate relationships are disclosed. When we get something wrong, our Corrections Policy describes exactly how we fix it and how visibly.
What we are careful about
Cannabis law is a patchwork. What is legal in one place is a criminal offense in another, and the rules change often. We write for an international audience of adults, and we expect readers to know and follow the law where they live. We say this plainly in our Disclaimer, and it bears repeating here: nothing we publish is an invitation to break the law of your jurisdiction, and nothing we publish is medical advice. Strain effects vary enormously from person to person, and questions about your health, your medications, or whether cannabis or CBD is appropriate for you belong with a qualified clinician, not with a website.
Independence
This site has no owner in the cannabis industry, no brand parent, and no investor with a product to move. Revenue comes from advertising and disclosed affiliate commissions, and neither buys influence over what we write. A brand whose product scores poorly in a review has no lever to pull with us, because there is no lever. The full picture is on the Ownership and Funding page.
