DeltaBev, a cannabis beverage manufacturing facility, has announced the opening of its new plant in Los Angeles, California. The plant is the world’s largest in terms of capacity and boasts state-of-the-art technology and quality standards.
A Milestone for the Cannabis Beverage Industry
The new plant, located in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, spans 45,000 square feet and has the ability to produce various types of cannabis beverages, including canning, bottling, and “mini” production lines. DeltaBev began operations in January 2024 with CANN, a leading brand in the cannabis beverage category, as its first production partner.
The plant is a milestone for the cannabis beverage industry, which is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years. According to a report by Grand View Research, the global cannabis beverage market size was valued at USD 1.6 billion in 2020 and is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.8% from 2021 to 2028.
DeltaBev aims to provide high-quality and consistent products that meet the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry standards. The plant uses advanced technologies and processes to preserve the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) potency and stability of the beverages, such as reverse osmosis water filtration, water de-aeration, inline emulsion injection, CO2 purging, and counter pressure filling.
A Competitive Edge for Customers and Consumers
DeltaBev also offers standard procurement services to all its customers, leveraging its purchasing power to enhance their margins and enable more competitive retail pricing. This way, DeltaBev hopes to make the cannabis beverage category more accessible and appealing to consumers, especially those who are new to cannabis or prefer low-dose and micro-dose products.
Additionally, DeltaBev is part of the vertically integrated Blaze Life Holdings (BLH), which also includes SuLo Distro, a full-service cannabis distributor covering California. This allows DeltaBev to streamline its operations and distribution, delivering fresher products to consumers faster and more efficiently.
“By streamlining our operations and eliminating unnecessary complexity, we are enabling downstream profitability and accelerating time to market, delivering fresher products to consumers faster,” said Shreyas Balakrishnan, CEO of BLH.
A Partnership with Mary Jones Soda
One of the customers that DeltaBev has secured is Mary Jones Soda, a subsidiary of Jones Soda, one of the first mainstream CPG brands to enter the California recreational cannabis market. Mary Jones Soda has witnessed impressive sales growth of over 500% since its launch in 2022 and has become the fifth-largest cannabis beverage brand in California.
Mary Jones Soda chose DeltaBev and SuLo Distro as its co-manufacturing and distribution partners, respectively, to support its next phase of growth and innovation. The company plans to introduce more beverage options as well as gummies and shots to its product portfolio.
“We are excited about our next phase of growth in California and partnering with both DeltaBev and SuLo Distro. The Canoga Park facility accelerates our innovation into more beverage options as well as gummies and shots. The SuLo distribution capabilities will also ramp our go-to-market strategy as we expand our footprint into more California Dispensaries,” said David Knight, CEO of Mary Jones.
A Bright Future for the Cannabis Beverage Category
DeltaBev’s new plant is a testament to the potential and popularity of the cannabis beverage category, which is poised to become one of the fastest-growing segments in the cannabis industry. DeltaBev believes that the category is far from its tipping point and that it can offer consumers a convenient, discreet, and enjoyable way to consume cannabis.
“The cannabis beverage category is far from its tipping point, and we understand the power of full-scale efficiencies within the beverage distribution supply chain. We are proud to be at the forefront of this exciting and evolving industry and look forward to partnering with more brands and retailers to bring the best cannabis beverages to the market,” said Balakrishnan.
