The new Canna Cabana store is located on the Tsuut’ina Nation land, near Calgary, Alberta. This is the first cannabis store on the Tsuut’ina Nation territory, and the 32nd Canna Cabana store in Alberta.
A Milestone for High Tide and Tsuut’ina Nation
The opening of the 160th store marks a significant milestone for High Tide, as it expands its retail footprint across Canada. The company now operates 160 stores under the Canna Cabana, KushBar, Meta Cannabis Co., Meta Cannabis Supply Co. and NewLeaf Cannabis banners. High Tide also owns and operates e-commerce platforms, including Grasscity.com, Smokecartel.com, CBDcity.com, FABCBD.com and Dailyhighclub.com.
The new Canna Cabana store is also a historic achievement for the Tsuut’ina Nation, as it is the first cannabis store on its land. The Tsuut’ina Nation is a self-governing First Nation located in southern Alberta, adjacent to the city of Calgary. The Nation has a population of about 2,000 people and a land base of over 283 square kilometers. The Nation has been developing its own cannabis regulations and policies, in accordance with the Cannabis Act and the First Nations Fiscal Management Act.
The Canna Cabana store is part of a larger development project on the Tsuut’ina Nation land, called Taza. Taza is a master-planned community that aims to create economic opportunities and social benefits for the Nation and its neighbours. Taza will feature retail, entertainment, hospitality, office, residential and cultural spaces, as well as a cannabis research and innovation centre.
